Just a few more spring flowers….

Buttercup

A walk by the nearby fields and back down to the river produced some more flowers today. The first I named Buttercup, who I surprised after she’d eaten most of the other flowers in her field.

Then there were these just a little further downriver from the pink and orange ones of before. There’s a lot of them growing on the other side of the river, which is a nature reaserve that gets very marshy in the winter.

Wheatfield

The first summer wheat crop looks just about ready to harvest. We can see the field from our main window. Last year it was full of sunflowers.

Wheat

There’s something special about the golden ripeness of wheat that reminds me of long summer school breaks in Leicestershire, when the wheat ripened between July and August, so I couldn’t resist dropping in this close-up.
